University Under Investigation Over Alleged Racism Against White People

Initiation of the investigation

After receiving a legal complaint, the U.S. Office for Civil Rights' Education Department (ORC) initiated an investigation into a fellowship program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison that is accused of discriminating against White individuals.

In a letter sent to the Equal Protection Project (EPP), the OCR confirmed the initiation of the investigation and included a disclaimer clarifying that the commencement of the investigation does not imply that OCR has reached a decision regarding the complaint.

William Jacobson, a law professor at Cornell University, confirmed that there is an ongoing ORC investigation into the fellowship program called "Creando Comunidad: Community Engaged Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) Fellows."
