Former congresswoman and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard has made headlines with her announcement of leaving the Democratic party. "We have no time to waste," Gabbard explained. "We live in troubled times."

This decision, coupled with her outspoken criticisms of the party, has sparked discussions on the reasons behind her departure and the potential implications for the political landscape. In a video announcement, Gabbard expressed her discontent with the Democratic Party, labeling it as being under the control of an "elitist cabal of warmongers" and driven by what she termed as "cowardly wokeness." 

Bitterly divided

"Our nation is bitterly divided," Gabbard said. "Our future as a republic, as a union, appears bleak. The news – the noise, the insanity, the darkness – is something many of us want to shut out. There are times when all I want to do is grab my surfboard and paddle out into the ocean, or go for a hike in the mountains, and appreciate the peace and majesty of Mother Nature."
