About Us
Welcome to Curious Historian!
Since our inception in 2016, Curious Historian has been dedicated to unveiling the most powerful and entertaining historical content on the web. Our mission has always been to present history in a fun, easy-to-consume format, driven by our passion for the past and our audience's shared enthusiasm. History, after all, is not just educational but also incredibly entertaining and inspiring. By examining historical events, we often find fascinating parallels with the present day.
Over the years, as breaking news, politics, and current events have increasingly dominated online content, we recognized a unique opportunity. We decided to apply the same engaging approach we use for historical content to contemporary news and events. Our goal is to enlighten curiosity and spark meaningful conversations by making current events accessible and thought-provoking.
Our audience's genuine positive feedback and increasing engagement have been incredibly inspiring. It has encouraged us to expand our content offerings, sharing more news and current events than ever before while remaining true to our historical roots. We are committed to providing entertaining, thought-provoking, and inspiring content that is easy to understand and enjoy.
Curious Historian is owned by JUSTWILL, LLC, which operates under the dba Motiv31. JUSTWILL, LLC owns a portfolio of history websites that now specialize in current events. Other sites in our content portfolio include History Daily and Pictures In History.
Thank you for being a part of the Curious Historian community. Together, we continue to explore the past and present, uncovering the stories that shape our world and connecting the dots between history and today.
Editorial Standards
At Curious Historian, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of journalistic integrity and responsibility. Our editorial standards ensure that our content is trustworthy, accurate, and respectful of our audience. Here are the key principles we follow:
Plagiarism
We have a zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism. All content published on Curious Historian must be original and properly attributed. We ensure that our writers and contributors understand the importance of producing unique work and giving credit where it is due. Any detected instances of plagiarism are taken seriously and addressed promptly to maintain the integrity of our platform.
Opinion vs. News
We clearly distinguish between opinion pieces and news articles. Our news content is based on verified facts and presented without bias. Opinion pieces, on the other hand, are clearly labeled and reflect the views of the author rather than the organization as a whole. This distinction helps our readers understand the nature of the content they are consuming and form their own informed opinions.
Misinformation
Combating misinformation is a core value at Curious Historian. We are committed to providing accurate and reliable information. Our editorial team rigorously fact-checks all content before publication. In the event that an error is discovered, we promptly correct it and transparently communicate any corrections to our audience. We strive to be a dependable source of truth in a landscape often cluttered with misleading information.
By adhering to these standards, we aim to maintain the trust and confidence of our readers, ensuring that Curious Historian remains a respected and reliable source of information.
